Belitung - Pulau Burung

It was during a long weekend period of Chinese new year holiday when my fellow photographer-wanna-be friends and I went to one of two main islands of Bangka-Belitung province of Indonesia (among Indonesian better known as Babel Province), an island that is popular with its granite boulder white stones beach at its beaches. And those beaches were our target…

Bromo, East Java

I am back again to Bromo, after so many years……

She’s still the same. The view from Penanjakan peak is still breath-taking. Still fresh, but it is not as chilly as before, as far as I remember. And not as clean as before (more people coming, means more litters *huh*)

This time, I brought along my family at weekend. And they really enjoyed the trip. From Malang, I chose Tosari route near Pasuruan as Poncokusumo route would be impossible for us who took Toyota Kijang to reach the caldera, and Sukapura route near Probolinggo is too distant compare to Tosari…

Kamoro Kids at Poumako...

Not really a well-planned hunting trip…

We have not been going for photo hunting for quite some time. On Friday, we just came up with idea to go for photo hunting to Poumako district. Not a good time to go for landscape view, since the weather was not too bright and the sky was cloudy. So we decided to go for people activities instead…

There are several Kamoro & Asmat villages in this district, but we only went to those places that were located near the main road. Toyota Avanza that we rode would not allow us to go to places where the road surface was too poor. But hey, it was okay! Even from the places we went, we found a lot of good moments, especially with the kids that were always cheerful and smiling. They were not shy when it matters to pose in front of cameras, and they even wanted to have more and more shoot… 😀

We will definitely come back here and meet our new little friends again…

Prambanan, Central Java

Prambanan, built in 9th century, is one of the largest Hindu temples in south-east Asia. It is characterized by its tall and pointed architecture, typical of Hindu temple architecture, and easily recognized from distance because of the towering central buildings inside the large temple complex…

Located around 20km east of Yogyakarta, Prambanan has three main temples in the center of the complex as the symbol of Trimurti in Hindu belief, namely Brahma (the creator), Wisnu (the keeper) and Shiwa (the destroyer). Each main temple is accompanied by one smaller temple, Hamsa for Brahma, Garuda for Wisnu, and Nandini for Shiwa. At the outer area, there are other 234 smaller temples, some of them are still yet to be reconstructed…

Ratu Boko, Central Java...

Another beautiful site to visit in Central Java / Jogjakarta area.

This archaeological site lies on a small plateau about 196 meter above the sea level. The remains cover the areas of two villages, Dawung and Sambirejo, belong to Yogyakarta Special Territory Province, about 3 km to the south of Prambanan Temples.

And finally I got the chance to visit this site during my last vacation. Accompanied by an officer from Dinas Purbakala (Archaeological Service) of Central Java, I walked this site…
